College of Charleston junior Jordan Thomas recently went to Capitol Hill to talk to lawmakers about the issue of prosthetics and the health care debate.

Jordan, a bilateral amputee, is trying to raise awareness of the 2 million men and women who use prosthetics. He is asking lawmakers to pass legislation that will eliminate the caps so that amputees across the United States have access to the types of devices that allow them to function every day.
While in Washington, Jordan was followed by a CNN reporter and featured on CNN’s The Situation Room.

Jordan recently received the National Courage Center 2009 Award and was named a CNN Hero.
He also started the Jordan Thomas Foundation to raise money for children with traumatic injuries.
