The College of Charleston’s Accepted Student Weekend is full, with 1,000 students registered and more than 3,500 people expected (including family members). The event will take place Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20. Approximately 3,000 people attended the College’s first-ever Accepted Student Day last year and the unqualified success of the event prompted the Office of Admissions to turn it into a weekend-long experience for students who have been accepted to the College, but may not have made a final decision about where they will attend in fall 2010.

On Friday, students and families will be able to tour residence halls and off-campus facilities (including Grice Marine Lab and the Patriots Point Sports Complex), check out the campus, and explore the City of Charleston.

Saturday there will be ample time for students to explore the campus, attend mini-lectures and a student organization fair, tour the library tours and find out as much as they can about the College of Charleston. The day-long event will begin with registration and an academic fair at 9:00 a.m. at Carolina First Arena.

“Accepted Student Weekend will give students that we have accepted to the College a great opportunity to spend time with us and get a real feel for the College of Charleston experience,” says Director of Freshman Admissions Jimmie Foster, Jr. “They’ll meet students who already are here, establish new friendships, maybe meet potential roommates, talk with faculty and staff, and explore the city of Charleston.  At the end of the weekend, we expect that they will return home confident in their decision to attend the College of Charleston.”
