Two College of Charleston School of Education, Health, and Human Performance students earned perfect scores on the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) test. Thirty-one students earned scores of excellence on the Praxis II test.

Amanda Adams, a Spanish education major, and Cecilia Menniti, an elementary education major, earned the perfect scores and Adams has signed a contract to teach Spanish at Woodlands High School in Dorchester County District Four. Menniti is planning to stay in the Lowcountry to teach.

All teacher education graduates must take and make qualifying scores on both the PRAXIS II and PLT tests in order to be recommended for state certification. The Praxis II tests measure general and subject-specific knowledge and teaching skills.
