College of Charleston political scientist Jeri Cabot said infidelity is “the only way to really attack a female candidate,” but there is no real data studying how voters react to allegations of female infidelity. Cabot said Haley could win over voters because she appears confident and true to her ideology even in the face of Folks’ accusation.
“Thus far, she appears credible,” Cabot said.
