The College of Charleston has launched “CofC Mobile”, an app that provides secure mobile access to popular College of Charleston online services via iOS and Android. CofC Mobile provides access to maps, news, emergency information, the events calendar, directory information, social media, library resources, OAKS, student and faculty class schedules, and grades.

“It’s a mobile world. Most everyone uses smart, handheld devices for College and personal business and convenience,” says Bob Cape, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “Our team’s creation of this mobile app is timely in meeting the needs and expectations of our users for relevant technology support. Kudos to Andrew Bergstrom and his staff in for their excellent work.”

In 2012, the MyCharleston portal received 331,000 visits from mobile devices, with the top 10 devices running iOS (Apple) or Android as their operating system.

The development team is focusing on adding additional features like Cougar Card balance in the next release.  A Windows Phone app is currently in beta testing and should be available in spring 2013.

CofC Mobile is available for download in the App Store or on Google Play.
