The Port of Charleston and affiliated logistics and transportation companies are seeing positive, double-digit growth and demand for jobs related to transportation, logistics, and supply chain management will continue for the next decade. Enrollment is now open for the College of Charleston’s Global Logistics & Transportation Professional Training Program, which starts on August 26, 2013 and runs through April 21, 2014.

Screen shot 2013-07-26 at 3.08.29 PMThe Global Logistics & Transportation Professional Training Program is an eight-months of weekly courses, held on Mondays from 7 until 9 p.m. The program is designed to provide practical knowledge and training in the many diverse areas of global logistics and transportation. The career experience of instructors in both the private and public sectors not only lends an academic dimension to the classes, but also enables them to effectively handle the specific, practical information needed for training courses. The program includes instruction on four knowledge domains: arranging the move, the Port of Charleston, moving the goods, and support activities and shippers. Each domain includes five classes and an exam.

All Monday evening courses are held at the School of Business Tate Center (room 207), located at 5 Liberty Street, Charleston, S.C. The cost is $895 per person.
