1. It’s a first.

While the College officially became a member of the CAA in 2013, the January 7 game against James Madison University (JMU) marks the Cougars’ first conference match-up of the season. The JMU Dukes won the CAA championship last season.

2. Musical performance by…

Darius Rucker! Need we say more? The Charleston native, Hootie and the Blowfish front man and country music sensation will sing the National Anthem at Tuesday’s game.

3. TD Arena is hot.

Literally, it’s heated. The weather forecast in Charleston at tip-off time calls for temps around 27 degrees with a wind chill of about 20 degrees. When you factor warm concession snacks into the mix, your Tuesday night becomes a real winner.

4. Cougar forward Willis Hall is on fire.

The graduate student from Charlotte, N.C. just earned back-to-back CAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors. Hall led the Cougars to victories last week against Howard and Davidson universities.
