The College of Charleston sailing program has a full schedule of championship-level competition through the end of May and into June.

sailingThe women’s sailing team, the No. 5-ranked team in the nation, is competing in the Sperry Top-Sider Women’s National Semifinals in Annapolis, Md. The event runs from May 27-30, 2014, with 28 teams competing for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy.

The APS Team Race Championship takes place May 31-June 2, 2014, at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The College of Charleston is one of 16 teams competing for the Walter C. Wood Trophy.

Rounding out the schedule, the Gill Coed Dinghy Championship is scheduled for June 3–6, 2014, at St Mary’s College of Maryland. The College if one of 36 teams vying for the Henry A. Morss Trophy. The Cougars, currently ranked the No. 5 co-ed team in the country, will attempt to repeat as the nation’s best co-ed sailing team. The College previously won back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007.
