Three staff members from the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture are participating in professional development at Ivy League schools this summer.

In June 2014, Executive Director Patricia Williams Lessane will take part in the Harvard Institute of Higher Education Management Development Program.

In July 2014, Mary Battle, public historian, and Shelia Harrell-Roye, education outreach coordinator, will participate in the 2014 Yale Public History Institute, hosted by the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University and in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
