“Folly Beach,” a new comedic play written by College of Charleston alumnus David Lee Nelson ’00, will premiere July 11 – Aug. 2, 2014, in Charleston.
The play, directed by Sharon Graci, will be performed at Pure Theatre, 477 King Street. The play examines the ins and outs of marriage, divorce, and friendship as a group of friends converge on Folly Beach for their friend’s second wedding.

Nelson is a writer, performer, and comedian and has performed multiple times as part of Piccolo Spoleto. He is currently a playwright-in-residence at Pure Theatre.
A theatre major, Nelson says his liberal arts education at the College provided him with a broad range of skills and knowledge that have been instrumental to his career.
