The 2014-2015 academic year has arrived, and many people all across campus have been working hard to prepare for the arrival and return of students.
The Office of Student Life serves as the clearinghouse for Welcome Week activities. This weeklong celebration from Aug. 17-24, 2014, includes a variety of programs to introduce new students to life at the College of Charleston and to provide information about academics, athletics, campus resources, cultural diversity, recreation and wellness and student involvement and service learning.
Welcome Week is also a great way to meet people, score some cool giveaways and enjoy free food.
Here are some of the major events being held across campus during Welcome Week:
Georgestock – Sunday, Aug. 17, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. – TD Arena
Convocation – Monday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m.

Residence Life Block Party – Monday, Aug. 18, Noon – 3 p.m. – George Street
Stern Center 40th Birthday Party
– Wednesday, Aug. 20, 5-7 p.m. – Stern Center Garden
Green Heart Service Project – hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement – Thursday, Aug. 21, 5 – 8:30 p.m. – meet at Lightsey Center
Stern NiteLife Dive-In Movie – Thursday, Aug. 21, 9 p.m. – Midnight – Stern Center Pool
CAB Casino Night – Friday, Aug. 22, 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. – Stern Center
CisternFest Organization Fair – Saturday, Aug. 23, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. – Cistern Yard
