It’s been a big week for the Cougars with new Head Coach Earl Grant notching his first win against Emory in an exhibition game on November 8. Grant unveiled a free-flowing Cougar offensive team which limited pre-determined set plays and invited quick transitions after defensive stops, giving the players more dictation on the court.

The men’s basketball team will be on TV a record number of times during the 2014-15 season – a total of 24 times either locally, regionally or nationally. Saturday’s game will be televised live locally on MyTV Charleston and online via WatchESPN.com (ESPN3).

Coach Grant is already working to build his team – on the first day of the signing period, Grant signed two guards. The Cougars will welcome six-foot, 185-pound point guard Marquise Pointer out of Jonesboro Senior High School in Jonesboro, Ark., and 6-foot-3, 165-pound shooting guard Grant Riller out of Ocoee High School in Ocoee, Fla., next season.
