Now think about .009 seconds.

That is the amount of time that separated the College of Charleston men’s varsity 4 plus rowing team from making the semifinals of the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia recently. After finishing second place in the qualifying heat, the team was less than a second away from advancing to the semifinals.

Despite the disappointment of not making the finals, the team was able to celebrate the fact that they defeated 36 other boats in the competition.

The team returns to action Memorial Day weekend 2015 for the ACRA National Championship at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Last year, the National Championship attracted over 1,500 athletes from 63 colleges and universities from across the United States.
