Last week, Country Music Television (CMT) surprised hundreds of College of Charleston students by offering a free concert by country music artist and Charleston native Darius Rucker at the Windjammer on the Isle of Palms, S.C. If you weren’t lucky enough to score a wristband to the show, this weekend is your chance to watch the performance.

CMT will broadcast the “Instant Jam” program at 10 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 5, 2015. Until then, you can look at the photos and video below.

The concert capped off an exciting day in the Lowcounty. At 9 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2015, Rucker and CMT announced that they would hold a “pop up” concert that evening on the Isle of Palms. The only way to see the concert was to be in Cistern Yard one hour after the announcement to score one of 450 wristbands given away for the outdoor concert.

Joining Rucker on stage to perform “Let Her Cry” was his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmate Mark Bryanan adjunct faculty member in the College’s Arts Management program.

The College of Charleston is only the second university in the country to be selected by CMT to take part in “Instant Jam.”
