The College of Charleston is again ranked among the Top 20 Best Regional Universities, according to U.S. News and World Report’s annual rankings for the publication’s “Best Colleges 2016” guidebook. The College is ranked No. 4 among public regional colleges and No. 11 among the over 90 public and private universities that made the list.

The U.S. News rankings also highlighted the College of Charleston in other categories:

  • The College was ranked No. 6 in the region in the category of A Strong Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching. This category identifies schools “where the faculty has an unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.”
  • The College was named an A Plus School for B Students.
  • The College was named No. 9 in the region in the category Best Colleges for Veterans.

U.S. News rankings are based largely on undergraduate academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, assessments from peer institutions, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
