Robert-SwanPolar explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan, who is the first man to walk unsupported to both the North and South poles, will speak at the College of Charleston on Dec. 9, 2015. The talk begins at 4 p.m. in the School of Sciences and Mathematics Building Auditorium (SSMB 129), 202 Calhoun St.

The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

A skilled motivational speaker, Swan’s TED Talk on preserving Antarctica has amassed nearly 900,000 views. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1995, and in 2003 and 2004, he and his company, 2041, delivered the first ever corporate Antarctic Expeditions on teamwork and leadership.
