On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, the Department of Philosophy will present a talk by Dale Jamieson, chair of the Environmental Studies Department at New York University. Jamieson’s lecture: “The Anthropocene: Love it or Leave it” will take place at 3:15 p.m. within the Alumni Center in the School of Education, Health and Human Performance.

The lecture, which is being presented in honor of Ned Hettinger’s retirement from the philosophy department, will be drawn in part from Jamieson’s most recent academic writing: Reason in a Dark Time: Why the Struggle to Stop Climate Change Failed and What it Means for our Future. Jamieson is a prodigious author, having written seven books and countless articles. A large portion of his published work examines climate change.
