The following message was sent to the campus community by President Glenn McConnell ’69 on Nov. 14, 2016.
Dear Campus Community:
Eddie Thomas ’76
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you to let you know that Dr. Eddie Thomas, a Board of Trustees member, has passed away.
Dr. Thomas was born in Abbeville, S.C., and graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston in 1976. He also received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the MUSC College of Dental Medicine. He was a well-known dentist in Anderson, S.C., for nearly four decades.
Dr. Thomas was a passionate advocate for the College of Charleston. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2013, serving with great humility and a strong desire to see the College reach even greater heights. He was committed to ensuring that students had enriching educational experiences. He will be sorely missed and will always be remembered as part of our College family.
I hope you will join me in keeping the Thomas family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.
