Despite losing his match, College of Charleston’s Jake Kusmider made collegiate tennis history Tuesday.

Kusmider became the first player to use the Playsight video review system to successfully challenge a call at the collegiate level against Virginia Tech’s Freddy Mesmer in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Kusmider was able to reverse a call on a game-deciding point, but the freshman eventually lost to Mesmer 6-3, 6-4.

The Cougars lost all seven matches against the Hokies.
