President Glenn McConnell ’69 issued the following message to the campus community on Saturday, May 13, 2017, regarding the relocation of Commencement ceremonies to TD Arena:

Dear Graduates, Faculty and Staff:

Due to the weather forecast, we are moving our Saturday Commencement Ceremonies to TD Arena. Both the morning and afternoon ceremonies will begin at the originally scheduled times, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.

I know this is disappointing for many of our graduating seniors who were looking forward to crossing the Cistern to receive their diplomas, but our first priority is the safety and well-being of our graduates, families, friends and loved ones.

Please Note: The same ticket restrictions apply for the ceremonies in the TD Arena. Each candidate may still have only up to four (4) ticketed guests, regardless of age. The satellite viewing areas will still be open and will stream the ceremony live from the arena. The ceremony may also be viewed live (captioned or non-captioned) from the College of Charleston’s commencement page (www.cofc.edui/commencement.)

Parking will still be available at the same campus garages.
