The following message was sent to the campus community on Sept. 6, 2017:

Dear Campus Community,

College officials continue to work with state and local emergency preparedness teams to monitor the track of Hurricane Irma.

At this time, the governor of South Carolina has declared a “state of emergency.” PLEASE NOTE: this is a procedural declaration and not a call for evacuation. The declaration is an important first step for emergency preparedness and allows state officials to set up an operations center to coordinate efforts statewide.

The College will continue to update the campus community throughout the day/night with any significant changes.

In consultation with our emergency preparedness partners across the city, county and state, the College should have a clearer picture of the storm track in tomorrow morning’s weather briefing and will communicate any next steps in storm preparation at that time.
