Participating in hands-on research is a hallmark for students at the College of Charleston. But often, the most daunting step in pursuing independent research projects is the first one – approaching a faculty member to inquire about research possibilities. That’s why the School of Sciences and Mathematics stages a Research Mixer every fall to connect students interested in conducting research with faculty mentors from the College – and from the Medical University of South Carolina – who are interested in taking on research assistants.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, the annual SSM Research Mixer will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the School of Sciences and Mathematics Building. Students are encouraged to drop by any time during the event and chat with faculty members. Refreshments will be served, and additional information is available on the school’s website.
