A city worker installs a new CofC street sign at George and St. Philip streets on Dec. 7, 2017.

The campus community got an early holiday gift from the City of Charleston this week as new street signs featuring the College of Charleston logo began going up at intersections around campus.

News signs are being installed at the following locations: Calhoun at St. Philip, St. Philip at George, St. Philip at Liberty, St. Philip at Wentworth, Wentworth at Glebe, Wentworth at Coming, Coming at George, Coming at Bull, Coming at Calhoun, and George at Glebe.

The new signs were designed by the College’s Division of Marketing and Communications, which worked closely on the project with the city’s Department of Planning, Preservation and Sustainability and the Department of Traffic and Transportation.

The new signs replaced older signs that had been up since 2009 and are intended to help better identify the CofC campus within downtown Charleston.
