The deadline for students to apply for the Office of Institutional Diversity‘s Crossing the Cistern scholarship program is approaching.

Launched in August of 2017, Crossing the Cistern is a $4,000 scholarship program serving rising sophomores and juniors who have a minimum of 30 earned credit hours and a GPA between 2.0 and 2.4. In addition to financial support, the program also includes components aimed at supporting students in their academic careers, including academic support, monthly seminars, alumni mentors and a spring internship. The one-year program is designed to help foster a sense of community among students, particularly students of color.

The Crossing the Cistern scholarship program is open to all students at the College of Charleston. African-American, Latin-American and Native-American students are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Aug. 11, 2018.
