10th Annual No Violence, No Victims Vigil to be Held Wednesday

The Office of Victim Services and S.C.O.P.E. (Safe Campus Outreach, Prevention and Education) will hold the 10th Annual No Violence – No Victims Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018.

This year’s speaker is Christan Rainey, the founder and executive director of M.A.D. USA, Inc. (Men Against Domestic Violence). In 2006, Rainey’s mother (Detra, 39), three brothers (William, 16, Hakiem, 13, Malachi, 6) and sister (Samenia, 6) were murdered by his stepfather in North Charleston, while Rainey was away at college. Today, Rainey is a captain with the North Charleston Fire Department, a husband, father, and volunteer.

The event, which is open to everyone on campus, will be held at 6:45 p.m. on the 4th Floor of the Stern Student Center.
