The program, which had been discontinued a few years ago due to budget cuts, has now been reinstated with a $30,000 allotment. The Staff Advisory Committee to the President (SAC) will be responsible for receiving applications and forwarding recommendations to the president. The final decision on which proposals are to be funded will rest with the president.

Applications will be accepted three times this academic year in November, January and March. The next application deadline is Nov. 15, 2018. Applicants will be notified of the decision within two weeks of submitting a funding request.

An overview of the Staff Professional Development Incentive Program, including instructions, guidelines, and the application, is available on the president’s website. Requests for funding should be submitted by e-mail to sac@cofc.edu.

“It is the College’s goal to be a lifelong learning environment in support of a diverse faculty and staff who are excellent scholars, educators, and professionals,” Osborne said in announcing the program’s reinstatement. “We – the Board of Trustees and the College’s senior leadership team – truly appreciate everything you do for the College and have a strong desire to help our employees grow as professionals. I hope that a number of you will be able to utilize this program, and I look forward to receiving your requests.”
