The College of Charleston Provost Search Committee has made its recommendations to President George Benson for two finalists for the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost position.

The two finalists are: David P. Haney, currently the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education at Appalachian State University and George W. Hynd, the current Senior Vice Provost for Education and Innovation at Arizona State University.

“The Provost position is vital to the continued upward progress of the College. Finding a dynamic leader to fill this position is critical to the College achieving its long-term goals,” says College of Charleston President P. George Benson. “I am very pleased with the caliber of the two finalists and look forward to hearing their insights about the College during their upcoming visits to campus.”

The two finalists will visit campus and meet with, faculty, staff, board members, students, administration officials, and deans in the coming weeks.

Two open forums for David Haney are scheduled for Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Tate Center Room 202.

Two open forums for George Hynd are scheduled for Sept. 3 at 10:30 and 3 p.m. in Tate Center Room 202.
