Each participant commits to raising at least $150 for the MUSC Children’s Hospital. Then they stay up all night “in honor of the children who can’t.” Registration for the 2010 event is open now; participants must register by October 31.

At Dance Marathon, there will be entertainment to fill the entire 15 hours, including bands, dance groups and games. Throughout the night, participants will learn a six-minute “morale dance.” The event will culminate in a group performance of the “morale dance” for the children from the hospital and their
families. There also will be a reaveal of the amount of money the participants have raised.

Last year, approximately 450 students participated and raised more than $70,000 – up from $43,000 the previous year. Watch a video about last year’s event.
