Dozens of high school students from across South Carolina will be on campus experiencing the College of Charleston during M.O.V.E., the Multicultural Overnight Visit Experience, held on November 20 and 21. It is a free overnight program for high school juniors and seniors from diverse backgrounds who are interested in attending the College. While on campus, they will stay in a dorm room with a student host, talk with professors, eat in the dining facilities and meet other students.

“The College of Charleston is a great place for diverse students, and once they come and visit, they realize this,” said Debbie Counts, associate director for admissions. “This weekend really provides students an opportunity to ‘get the skinny’ on the school. They will be staying and interacting with students that come from similar backgrounds and may be interested in similar programs on campus.”

The high school students will meet on campus at 5:00   p.m. in the Multicultural Center. They will eat, and then return to the center for activities. M.O.V.E. is offered free, but an application must be filled out, as space is limited.

Another M.O.V.E. program will be held on January 30-31, 2010.
