The College of Charleston has expanded its Cougar Shuttle service after a very successful trial period during fall 2009. Cougar Shuttle will now operate seven nights a week from 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. during the spring and fall semesters. Cougar Shuttle is free to all students who show a current Cougar Card. To use the Cougar Shuttle, call 888.960.2227 and you will be picked up and transported to your destination on the peninsula.
“Our first semester for the shuttle was an amazing success,” said Evelyn Nadal, associate dean of students. “Thousands of students were able to get safe rides home and told us how appreciative they were.”
The Cougar Shuttle is a 14-seat passenger van dedicated to safe transportation for College of Charleston students anywhere on the peninsula. With the expansion of Cougar Shuttle, SAFERIDE will no longer operate. Cougar Shuttle is a direct result of the recommendations that were made by the Clean Slate Committee – a group of students, College and City staff that assisted the administration last summer in seeking new and innovative ways to handle student safety issues on campus.
