The College of Charleston has received a record-setting 98 nominations for the 2010 Excellence in Collegiate Education and Leadership (ExCEL) Awards. A total of 33 awards will be given out and the goal is to honor individuals and organizations that create a campus environment that promotes diversity and excellence.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on March 30, 2010 at the Sottile Theatre. A reception will start at 4:00 p.m. and the awards presentation at 5:00 p.m. The event is free, however tickets are required for entry. Tickets can be picked up through March 23 at the Multicultural Student Center (207 Calhoun St) or in the President’s Office (Randolph Hall).

Donations will be accepted and proceeds from this event will benefit the Horizons Yearlong Enrichment Program (HYPE). HYPE is designed to cultivate and sustain a dynamically diverse campus culture at the College of Charleston. HYPE provides continuous transition services to students seeking assistance in the quest for confidence and community while pursuing a College of Charleston degree.
