Troy Lesesne, who is completing coursework this semester as a master’s degree student in Communication at College of Charleston, received the Paul Harris Fellow award on Tuesday, March 2 at the Mount Pleasant Rotary meeting. The award is given to someone who raises $1,000 or more for the Rotary Annual Programs Fund.

Lesesne, a native of West Columbia, SC who also received his bachelor’s in Communication at the College, organized a soccer event titled “Juggle for the Gift of Life” and collaborated with the Mount Pleasant
Soccer Club to raise money. Each player involved in the event found a donor to help sponsor the evening. For every soccer “juggle” the participants completed, their sponsor donated a predetermined amount.
Lesesne, an All-America player for the Cougars as an undergraduate, now serves as an assistant coach of the men’s soccer team. Lesesne actually planned the juggling event as part of a graduate course last semester.
