Over 1,700 students will be taking part in the College of Charleston’s May Commencement Exercises this weekend.
Over 130 students from the Graduate School of the College of Charleston will be receiving their degrees in a ceremony on May 7 in the Sottile Theatre. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be taped by C-SPAN for broadcast at a later date. Lucy Beckham, the 2010 National High School Principal of the Year will be the commencement speaker.
Approximately 1,600 undergraduate students will be receiving their degrees in two ceremonies on May 8. The ceremonies will be held in Cistern Yard starting at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The commencement speaker for the College of Charleston undergraduate ceremonies will be Marco Cavazzoni, vice president and general manager of Final Assembly and Delivery at Boeing Company in Charleston.
During the undergraduate ceremonies, an honorary degree will also be presented to Charleston philanthropist Anita Zucker.
