The South Carolina General Assembly has appointed David Hay and Greg Padgett to the College of Charleston Board of Trustees.

Greg Padgett will serve as the Alumni Trustee (Seat 18 with a four-year term).  David Hay will replace Greg as a Governor’s Appointee (Seat 16 whose term is coterminous with the Governor).  Both seats were effective July 2, 2010.

David Hay is a resident of Charleston and President of Hay Tire Company, Inc.  He graduated from the College with a B.S. degree in business administration in 1981 and is a member of Kappa Alpha. Hay has served on the College of Charleston Foundation Board and as past president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association.  He is a former member of the Chamber’s Executive Committee and is a Commissioner of Pilotage for Lower Coastal South Carolina.

Greg Padgett resides in Charleston and was appointed by the Governor in 2008.  Padgett is the Chief Financial Officer of Fennell Holdings, Inc., an investment holding company encompassing the hospitality, waste services, real estate, aviation and finance industries. He received his BS degree from the College of Charleston and is a certified public accountant.

He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society and Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business honor society. Padgett serves as a member of the College of Charleston School of Business and Economics Advisory Board.  He is a past President of the College of Charleston Foundation, a past member of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, Board of Trustees for the Charleston Stage Company, College of Charleston Cougar Club Board, and a past President of the Housing Corporation of the Alpha chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity which is a national fraternity founded in 1904 at the College of Charleston
