“We need to go beyond (its roots),” Ann-Marie Adams, the event’s producer and executive director of the Hilton Head Hospitality Association, said Thursday.

She spoke after organizers launched “a new era” of the festival Thursday by showing off a new logo, introducing this year’s volunteer leadership and releasing data about the event’s economic impact, estimated in 2010 to be $3.2 million in a College of Charleston report.
