PBS NewsHour is featuring a poem by College of Charleston English Professor Carol Ann Davis on the Artbeat section of their website. “Distal” is the weekly poem for March 14 through 18, 2011. In addition to the poem, a video of Davis reading at AWP’s 2011 Conference & Bookfair is also available.
Carol Ann Davis has recent or forthcoming work in Volt, the Iowa Review, the Threepenny Review, the Kenyon Review and Denver Quarterly. Her first book, Psalm, was published by Tupelo Press in 2007, a year in which she was also awarded and Literature Fellowship in Poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts. Carol Ann has been featured in readings at Poets House, New York City; the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; the Atlantic Center for the Arts, Florida; Ypsilanti Theater, Prague, Czech Republic. Her second book, Atlas Hour, will be published this summer (Tupelo, 2011).
