HOUSTON – College of Charleston’s Andrew Goudelock was crowned the 2011 State Farm 3-Point Champion on Thursday night at Hofheinz Pavilion on the University of Houston campus.

Goudelock defeated Chris Warren of Ole Miss with 21 points in the finals after 16 first-round points and 23 points in the semifinals which received a standing ovation from the crowd.

“It was really fun tonight,” Goudelock said. “Coach Cremins and the rest of the coaches came out to support me, so it made me feel at home. I tried to stay focused and had confidence in my shot. Once I saw a couple go down, it felt good.”

During warmups prior to the event, Goudelock met with former NBA star Karl “The Mailman” Malone who challenged his long range from the sidelines and was impressed by Goudelock’s touch and makes.

Goudelock will compete in the 2011 Reese’s College All-Star Game today at Reliant Stadium. The game will be televised live on TruTV at 5:30 p.m. (ET).

“It’s been great to meet different players from all over the country and see their style of play,” he said. “I’m enjoying every minute of my time in Houston and making the most of the experience.”
