The College of Charleston men’s soccer season opener has been moved to Sunday, August 28 at 6 p.m. at the Patriot’s Point Sports Complex.The decision was made as a precautionary action due to possible high winds, rain and flooding.

The Cougars take on No. 20 South Carolina in a banner matchup to open the 2011 season. The match features a pair of 2010 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship squads as well as two of the top-three active winningest Division I men’s soccer coaches.

The match was originally scheduled for broadcast on FOX Soccer Channel as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Game of the Week. The broadcast status of Sunday’s match is undetermined.

In the event the match is not broadcast on FOX Soccer Channel, the match will be live streamed through CofCSports.com and available to the public at no charge.
