Alumni of the College of Charleston can now connect with each other and to Alumni Association benefits through MyCofC, the newly designed online alumni community at www.alumni.cofc.edu. MyCofC and the upgraded alumni website are a result of the Association’s commitment to educate, engage and excite alumni in ways that are both meaningful and convenient.

“Our alumni are now able to connect with each other and alumni-owned businesses in a way that has never before been possible,” says Jack Huguley, director of alumni relations. “Who you know makes all the difference when searching for a job, moving to a new city or trying to get your foot in the door of a company  – and we are giving alumni access to more than 52,000 fellow alumni who share the College of Charleston experience.”

MyCofC keeps all the great components of the former online community – with many new features and benefits. Through MyCofC, alumni will be able to search the all new alumni job bank, promote their businesses in the alumni Yellow Pages, and register for local alumni and chapter events with data auto-fill. Members will still be able to create personal profile pages, view alumni events and chapter gatherings in their city, post class notes online, and get the latest news from campus

MyCofC also keeps alumni in touch with friends and the College in a new and dynamic way with direct links to Facebook, Flickr, and a RSS feed to the College Calendar and our central alumni directory. Starting in October, MyCofC members will receive a monthly e-newsletter with the latest headlines from campus, alumni news and events.

Members of the former online community may still use their user ID and password to access My CofC. New members will need to fill out a user profile and wait 24 hours while the Association links an ID and password to their alumni record.

The Alumni Association is offering a special promotion to new MyCofC members and members of the former online community who update their profiles. Create your new MyCofC profile or update your existing profile and receive one entry into the drawing for two (2) VIP passes (a $300 value) for A Charleston Affair on May 5, 2012. A Charleston Affair is one of the signature events for alumni, bringing back more than 3,000 alumni to campus, during Alumni Weekend.

More than 23,000 College of Charleston alumni belong to the Alumni Association’s Lowcountry chapter. Visit www.alumni.cofc.edu for the next chapter gathering or event in the Lowcountry.
