The College of Charleston’s “The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication” and Congressman Tim Scott’s “First in the South Presidential Town Hall Series” will co-host a town hall featuring Republican presidential candidate and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on November 28, 2011. Watch highlights from the event.
The event was held in the College of Charleston Sottile Theatre starting at 7 p.m.
Newt Gingrich was the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He is chairman of the Gingrich Group, a communications and consulting firm that specializes in transformational change, with offices in Atlanta and Washington.
“The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication” asks the individual presidential candidates to speak with students and Charleston community members on such topics as the frequency of press conferences, the candidate’s relationship with journalists, and the power of the president to persuade. This non-partisan series is a joint effort of the College’s Department of Communication and the Department of Communication Advisory Council.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, or to submit a question to be asked of Speaker Gingrich, please visit: www.timstownhalls.com.
