“You’re not just buying into a brand or the craftsmanship; you’re purchasing something that you can pass on to children and grandchildren,” says Kristin Arioli, a professor of art history at the College of Charleston. “You might buy something that is just a trend, but if you do your research and really wait to purchase, you end up with classic pieces that will never go out of style.”
