The College of Charleston men’s basketball team (9-1) carries a season-best six-game winning streak into a tough top 5 road test at No. 4-ranked and unbeaten Louisville (10-0) on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. The Cougars and Cardinals will tipoff at 9 p.m. (ET) and the game will be televised live nationally on ESPNU.
The College of Charleston and UL are one of only 36 NCAA Division I teams with one loss or less on the season. The Cardinals have won 18 straight at home which is tied for the 10th-longest home-court win streak in the nation.
The Cougars already have two marquee wins over major conference schools this year in their first-ever road win at Clemson (72-69) out of the ACC on Nov. 19 and against Tennessee (71-65) out of the SEC on Dec. 14. They are coming off a close 70-68 victory over intercity rival Charleston Southern on Dec. 17. College of Charleston is shooting 47.0 percent from the field this season which ranks No. 54 in the country and averaging 8.3 three-pointers a game which is No. 38. They will go up against a Louisville defense which has held opponents to 35.4 percent from the floor this which ranks sixth nationally.
College of Charleston will play two road games in the span of three short days prior to the Christmas holiday break with Coastal Carolina up next on Dec. 22.
