CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News, MSNBC and other international media networks broadcast live from the College of Charleston leading up to the January 21, 2012 S.C. Republican Presidential Primary. More than 200 members of the media were on campus in the week prior to the primary.

From January 18 through 21, CNN had a static camera and reporter in the Cistern Yard and broadcast live from the College at various times throughout the day.

On January 20, “Anderson Cooper 360” broadcast live from 8 to 9 p.m. in the Cistern Yard with Clyde the Cougar as a guest. “Erin Burnett OutFront” broadcast live from behind Randolph Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert and former Presidential candidate Herman Cain participated in a rally at 1 p.m. in the Cistern Yard with more than 150 members of the media present. On January 10, a portion of CNN’s broadcast of the New Hampshire primary originated from the College of Charleston. During this broadcast, a small focus group of South Carolina voters graded the politicians on various factors during primary night. The panel of South Carolina voters was in the School of Education, Health, and Human Performance Alumni Center during the 7 p.m. to midnight broadcast.

The Fox News television program “Huckabee” filmed ‘HUCKABEE FORUM2:  SOUTH CAROLINA UNDECIDED’ from Sottile Theatre on Saturday, January 14. The show aired on Fox News at 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012. These events are all in addition to the four Bully Pulpit Series events that brought Presidential candidates to campus.
