The planets Venus and Jupiter are dancing alongside each other this week in a rare conjunction. On March 16, you will have a unique opportunity to watch this extraordinary event.

This Friday, The College of Charleston’s Department of Physics and Astronomy will open the school’s observatory to allow the public a chance to see the two planets.  The observatory will be open from 8:30 p.m. until 10p.m.

Along with the telescopes, experts will be on hand to answer questions you may have about the planets and other celestial objects.

The event is free.
