The College of Charleston’s Cougar Countdown is a chance for students to relieve stress from final exams by participating in daily activities that help with their academic, physical and emotional support.  New this year, students will be able to ‘Chill on the Green,’ to kick off Exam Week on April 25, 2012. From 8 to 10 p.m. on Rivers Green, more than 500 students are expected for one of the City’s largest (if not THE largest) ice cream sundae party.

“Cougar Countdown is such a good example of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs working together to support our students,” says coordinator Lindy Coleman. “Students will have the opportunity to get their minds off of exams for a little bit and enjoy the unique activities provided daily.”

Throughout the week there will be physical activities to de-stress including mini massages, yoga, and zumba.  A free coffee cart will be provided each morning so students can fuel up before and after their exams.

Cougar Countdown favorites that will still be offered this semester include a Moonlight Breakfast at Liberty Street Fresh Food Company on April 24 at 10:30 p.m., a study break sponsored by Cupcake at Rivers Green on April 26 at 3 p.m., and Pet Helpers’ ‘Puppies on the Green’ on April 27 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
