E. Neville Isdell, former CEO and Chairman of The Coca-Cola Company, will present “The 21st Century Corporation: How capitalism needs to evolve in an era of greater social accountability” at the College of Charleston’s School of Business on October 5, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Watch Isdell’s presentation.

Isdell, who was employed by Coca-Cola for more than four decades, took the world’s largest beverage company to new heights during his tenure. He expanded on the company’s proud legacy of corporate responsibility by embedding sustainability throughout every facet of the organization and helping ensure its role as a community-connected twenty-first century enterprise. These efforts resulted in The Coca-Cola Company’s return to Fortune’s “World Most Admired Companies” list in 2006. In 2009, the company moved up to the #12 spot in the global ranking.
In addition, Isdell published Inside Coca-Cola: A CEO’s Life Story of Building the World’s Most Popular Brand, the first book written by a Coca-Cola CEO, which tells the extraordinary story of the company’s revival.
Isdell received a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from the University of Cape Town and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School PMD. He is the recipient of four honorary degrees.
The feature event, hosted jointly by the School of Business and the Honors College, will be held in the Wells Fargo Auditorium in the Beatty Center and is free and open to students, campus leaders and faculty.
