College of Charleston’s “The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication” will host a town hall meeting with Judge Jim Gray, the vice presidential candidate for the Libertarian party on October 20, 2012. The meeting will be held in the School of Education Alumni Center at 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Judge Gray is an author and speaker who has long advocated reform of the nation’s drug laws. He served on California’s Orange County Superior Court from 1989 to 2010. His hundreds of media appearances have included Fox News, ABC, C-SPAN and radio stations across the country. He is also the author of three books.
“The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication” asks the individual presidential candidates to speak with students and Charleston community members on such topics as the frequency of press conferences, the candidate’s relationship with journalists, and the power of the president to persuade. This non-partisan series is a joint effort of the College’s Department of Communication and the Department of Communication Advisory Council.
