“A Better Way: Restoring the Economic, Environmental, and Social Health of Our Cities” will look at repurposing existing urban landscapes that have seen decline to create new communities. Knott will talk about how the liberal arts theories students are learning play a role in how communities are built and sustained in the future.

Professor Kevin Keenan, director of the urban studies program, hopes Knott gets students thinking about their future. “Mr. Knott will give students ideas of what we should be doing with our city spaces, and possibly spark an interest in thinking about a sustainable future. Plus, they will see a model of a career they could pursue with their education here.”
