Junior Spanish major Brian Malone has earned a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship to study Indonesian. He will spend up to 10 weeks this summer in an intensive language institute in Indonesia.

Just 550 U.S. undergraduate and graduate students receive this scholarship each year, so it is highly competitive.
