The College of Charleston Spring Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Cistern Yard.
The spring graduation ceremony is one of the College’s most recognizable events and strongest traditions.
This year’s commencement will also mark President George Benson’s final address to graduates. Benson is stepping down from the presidency at the end of June 2014.
Commencement is divided into two ceremonies as follows:
10:00 A.M. – School of Business; School of Education, Health, and Human Performance; School of Sciences and Mathematics
4:00 P.M. – School of the Arts; School of Humanities and Social Sciences; School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs
U.S. Senator Tim Scott will be the Commencement Speaker at both undergraduate ceremonies. Senator Scott, along with Marie Land and Marlene Addlestone, will receive honorary degrees at the morning ceremony.
The College’s Graduate School Ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014, at TD Arena. Jim Newsome, President and CEO of the S. C. State Ports Authority, is the speaker and honorary degree recipient.
